4 highlights from improving course creation
A blank canvas
The main challenge we tackled was the complex and fragmented flow of the existing course creation tool. The interface was overloaded with unnecessary menus, steps, nested blocks, and poor guidance. Users mostly struggled to : - Understand the course architecture and organization within chapters and section - Organize their content efficiently inside of a given section - Reorganize chapters and sections

We removed all menus, steps and went for a clear full-screen editor with drag-and-drop options enabling reorganization of all elements : chapters, sections and contents (no the easiest thing to implement but way easier to manipulate and a no-brainer for testers). We built a blank canvas to which you can add any type of content and move it around seamlessly.

Also a small detail that actually matters, we moved the previsualization CTA to the blank canvas, enabling teachers to preview their course (student view) anytime rather than clicking next to access the preview step once everything is finished. Finally, we added a very appreciated auto-save message, and a persistent “Save as Draft” CTA to reassure users (even if auto-save existed already).

Hittin’ publish
Ultimately, our target is for our users to click Publish. Yet a fraction of them were stuck very close to the finish line, so we spent time designing an efficient final step. The original screen was falling short in three critical areas: 1. No guidance on how to price a course effectively 2. No clear summary highlighting missing or incomplete required fields 3. No big-picture view of the course structure and timing We redesigned this step into a something that brings everything together: - Pricing decomposition and “free course” shortcut option - A clean summary with visual cues for anything still missing - An overview of your full course architecture, with pre-filled estimated durations

Import SCORM
User research revealed a powerful insight: that many teachers had their courses built elsewhere and actually just wanted to import existing content. So we added support for the SCORM format, the standard in the e-learning industry. This improvment itself accounts for almost half of the extra 20% completion rate, showing that many product issues are not just about tweaking your layout and copy, but mostly about understanding what people need or miss.
